The Gryphon Carolers

featuring

Performance Notes - Concert

What to wear

Black pants or skirt with jewel-tone top. Fabrics should be dressy, not sweatshirt/t-shirt material. White isn't good because the backdrop behind the choir is white. No reindeer sweaters, etc. Also please no perfume or after-shave because some in the choir are allergic.

      YES:     NO:

What to bring

Sometimes carolers coordinate getting food and water as a group. But unless you know for sure that is happening, be prepared with your own bottled water and snack. There's a "green room" where we can keep coats, snacks, etc. (Note that water is the only food or drink allowed on the stage.)

Performance Notes

* Look up from your music often, and/or hold your binder higher. This allows you to watch the conductor, direct your voice outward, and face the audience.

* Don't forget about dynamics! The stage environment, where everything sounds distractingly different than in the choir room, can tempt you to oversing.

* Be aware that the condenser microphones above the choir are very sensitive. A mumbled remark to a fellow caroler may well be heard by the audience....

* Smile!
